I've always loved models. When I was a child, I collected all versions of them. I had model airplanes, vehicles, boats, trains - you think of it I had it. When I went to architectural school, I gave everything up. I figured that I couldn't make a career in models, and should do some-thing else that I liked. Little did I know what awaited me. I am grateful that they haven't sussed out a way to take the individual crafts-men away from the architecture scale-model. This job is a dream come true, and I'm glad it can not be done more effectively by machinery. I think it is going to be a very long time before anyone puzzles out a different way to do it. If it were simply a matter of mass manufacturing architecture scale miniatures, it would be a different story. You could create one design and have it created by a piece of equipment. But each architecture scale-model is custom-ordered, and so each must be custom made.
