It's pretty ironic and sad how our priorities at times back-fire. A lot of parents I know will toil from dawn until dusk each day to provide the greatest future for their children, yet by doing this they may be hurting their children more than assisting them. You see, monetary security is important, but it is not the most critical issue in a kid's development. Children need constant interaction, both with other kids and their parents. This is, after all, how they learn and develop in the first years of their lives - some-thing that will affect them for the rest of their lives. If you can not read to your kids every single night, they will have a much harder time learning to read when they get to school. That is why kids audio books can be such a good idea.

The first time I purchased my kids audio books on cd was when I was traveling on a business trip for some weeks. I had been reading to my little girl from the same book every night for a week or two, and we were almost halfway finished with it. She was very sad to see me leave, and I knew that she would truly miss that tale. On a whim, I went to the community audio book store and found out that I could get a copy of it. At first, she was a tad bit nervous about listening to the kids audiobook. She told me that she wished to hear me reading it, not some tape recorder. Nevertheless, when she puzzled out that I was not going to stay it doesn't matter how much she pleaded and begged, she relented and made the decision to listen to the kids audio books.

She actually truly enjoyed it. I like to think that she still likes the way I read more than she enjoys children books on cd, but I bet it is a close-call. The kids audiobook readers are great. My diction isn't bad, and I'm a pretty expressive reader, but these are true trained performers. Your average run of the mill dad just simply can not compete! They know exactly how to read kids books to make them exciting and engaging, keeping your kids on the edge til the very last page. Although my little girl is still sad when I go out of town, the kids books on cd make my trip just a bit easier on her. Both of us are very pleased about that.
