A Health Teacher Motivates His Students To Discover More About Alcoholic Symptoms, Symptoms Of Alcoholism, And Signs Of Alcoholism
Mr. Johnson was one of the health instructors at a large country high school in the Eastern part of the United States. For "Alcohol Attentiveness Month" he made up his mind that he would concentrate on the following three topics for a class assignment: the symptoms of alcoholism, the signs of alcoholism, and alcoholic symptoms.
After Mr. Johnson put the final touches on the topics that would be allotted to his students, he came to a decision that he would supply them with their assignment the following Wednesday morning. When "assignment day" finally came, Mr. Johnson met with his class, handed out some appropriate facts and information, and then notified the students in his classroom about the topics he picked.
He then gave the members of his class a summary of some key signs of alcoholism and emphasized how imperative it is to gain knowledge about and learn how to correlate these facts, statistics, and symptoms with the day-to-day experiences of alcohol dependent individuals. He then gave his pupils a succinct explanation about the significance of learning more about individuals dependent on alcohol and how they perform their activities on an everyday basis.
Mr. Johnson informed the students in his classroom that they could center their attention on one of the three topics or talk about all three topics and how they are interlinked. In short this would be not unlike a simple abstract but done more thoroughly.
Another choice that he offered to the members of his class was the following: select a topic such as alcohol addiction signs and symptoms, research things in a more thorough fashion, and then discuss two or three signs and symptoms. Mr. Johnson then pointed out the fact that the same rationale applies to the other two topics, namely, alcoholic symptoms and the symptoms of alcoholism.
The end result of their research would be a six thousand word composition and then a twenty-five minute oral presentation that would be presented in front of all the members of the class. As a reward for their excellent academic success, the students with the top three overall grades on the composition and on the presentation will be asked to present the outcome of their research project at the district drug and alcohol abuse convention at the end of March.
As declared by Mr. Johnson, because there are several alcohol addiction signs and symptoms to choose from, he brought up the fact that he was not excessively worried about more than one student settling on the same signs and symptoms for their class assignment. To be sure, even if multiple students were to opt for identical symptoms and signs, the illustrations that are associated with each symptom or sign would without doubt add enough multiplicity to stay away from different students presenting exactly the same content.
Mr. Johnson then pointed out the fact that while there are many alcoholism symptoms and signs that could be chosen, the variety of alcohol addiction statistics and facts that could be highlighted were practically without limit. When the topic of alcoholic symptoms was added to the discussion, moreover, the students in the classroom realized pretty swiftly that the three topics would make available a gigantic amount of information from which to pick.
Why did Mr. Johnson pick the signs of alcoholism, alcoholic symptoms, and the symptoms of alcoholism as the topics for this undertaking? Mr. Johnson thought that by raising the understanding of his students about the devastating consequences of alcohol dependency and the discouraging daily routines experienced by alcohol dependent people, his pupils might think twice before they got involved in careless and irresponsible drinking behavior.
